OUR STORY

OUR ROOTS RUN DEEP

The inspiration to develop a media agency focused on social values grew from the founder, Cristina Trujillo's, extensive experience in the Community and Economic Development Sector. As a leader in the field, she launched and implemented inclusive economic development state-wide programs for vulnerable populations. In her 13 years of service, Cristina took note of the need for effective storytelling that captures the universe of programs, resources, and boots on the ground that aid America's most vulnerable populations.

Cristina noticed that although social good practitioners may be privy to the plethora of resources and programs for vulnerable populations, the public at large continues to be largely unaware because of the lack of captivating and impactful visual storytelling and program awareness through multi-media channels. Cristina consulted with Tim Corbin, a professional visual artist, about these critical needs and in 2018 the mother and son duo went into a beta-testing mode.

With a visceral understanding of social needs, Cristina and Tim launched R.E.E.M to offer media production services to Cristina's extensive social-good network. In beta-testing, they found the secret ingredient for creating impactful visual storytelling is to match the social values between client and artist. The best visual artists for R.E.E.M's clients working on social impact are those whose values are birthed from personal experience and/or authentic passion to address the most critical issues impacting humanity and our world today.

Today, R.E.E.M is building a talent pool of artists that believe in the clients' social good mission for the purpose of fulfilling the client's needs for effective visual storytelling, program awareness, and igniting inspired action.
